Cyprus tops investor list

Cyprus has topped a list to determine the countries of most interest to property investors this year.

Jet-to-Let magazine recently surveyed 500 new subscribers to ascertain which countries are receiving the most attention from potential investors.

Cyprus finished first for the second consecutive year, closely followed by France and Spain in second and third respectively.

According to the findings, 36 per cent of investors said they wish to invest in foreign property in the next 12 months, while 27 per cent expressed an interest in doing so in the next six months.

Dominic Farrell, editor of Jet-to-Let magazine and author of the bestselling property investment book, said: "France and Spain will always be in the top ten for UK and Irish buyers, but the relegation of Spain to number six reflects the change in market conditions and an erosion of confidence in the Spanish market."

It was recently reported that several new golf courses in Cyprus could significantly boost the country's property market.
